Ah-Q

is morivated by of the Chinese writer 'Lu Xun'. To express 'silliness', the theme of , HONG Sung-yop used a variety of items such as flowers, knives and peaked hats.

, describing tragic life of the main charater 'AhQ', sho is a victim of the power and manoeuvre, is the work of 'LuXun', who is called the father of Chinese contemporary literature. 'Ah Q', as a day labourer , is extremely incapable and sill, but has much self-respect. He thinks he won against people who insulted him by his own way to victory, 'mental triumph'. In the confusion of Chinese Revolution, 'AhQ' tries to behave cunningly, but he is swept in other people's opinion not knowing anything about the ideology and the current of the revoulution and shout to death in the end.

When I visited Singapore in this year, this performance was playing. I would like to go for this, but I coundn't make opportunity. LUCKY ME!!!! I could see this performance HERE in LONDON~

I loved all the performance, however, I loved the music, their items the most of all.

I like the first music for opening. It was very fusion, hip-hop and Korean traditional rythm mixed one. I like this kind of style. Because I can feel something special. For instance, hip-hop is not Korean music. However, Once it is mixing with Korean traditional music, it turn to very Korean way but not boring.

About items... My BA major was Industrial design. So, I take a look carefully their items and stage design. Red Roses were very impressive. Performancer wore white clothes, but roses were very RED!!! It seems like sibolized of bood(just I guess).

Oh, well,.
I was very proud that the director was Korean. I could feel Korea's quality of Art's level getting high. There were many of empty seats at the moment. If The company did PR more activitier, more people could see such a nice performance.

Hi!
it was very interesting performance. However there were less of people even the performance was quite popular and had overall composition of the cultural characteristics of South Korea and modern art very well. Also, most of audiences were asian even it was held in London.
I think, South Korea government, has to try more to introduce our culture and cultural goods around the world.
After finish the performance, I felt regret of that as a one of korean.
